Introduction
The folks at Hilason have made a suit with tons of cool features. This suit offers a decent amount of of mobility for the decoy while boasting a light feel. This allows the decoy to run at an average speed while allowing him the ability to twist and turn following a bite. If I were to choose a suit based on price alone, the Hilason suit takes the cake. For what you pay, one can argue that this suit is the whole package and its material fears no dog from German Shepherd to pit-bull terrier and everything in between.
Review
Hilason’s body protection police dog bite suit is one of the more unique bite suits on the market. For starters, it is designed with leather belt buckles as suspenders making adjusting the pant length convenient. Additionally, the suspenders are made with a synthetic leather material ensuring serious durability. Although leather suspenders are good for security, if the decoy’s hands are sweaty, the material from the suspenders can stick together making the suspenders difficult to adjust or take off.
The suit itself is secured with a Velcro loop system on the exterior as are the pants on the waist. And although this is an innovative move, the dog can rip off the Velcro if its on the exterior which is not only dangerous, it can also rip the suit’s strap. This means that the suit is not recommended for new decoys. However the suit is lightweight and agile and for only $595.95, this product is an absolute steal.
Conclusion
Although this might not be my first choice with regards to bite suits, the price is right. And if I was a decoy on a tight budget, Hilason wins hands down. What Hilason’s body protection police dog bite suit lacks in security, it certainly makes up for in price efficiency. But for new decoys, security is very important and if you can afford it, it may be worth your while to find a better suit. Additionally, this suit can not be custom made so you’re looking at a one size fits all type of deal.
