An Honest Review of the PetSafe Easy Walk No-Pull Dog Harness

easyWalkNoPullHarnessAhh leash pulling…that thing we dog owners get to look forward to three times a day (as if waking up in the wee hours and walking our dogs in the freezing cold wasn’t enough). Then along comes the Easy Walk No-Pull Harness.

The ‘EZ Walk’ No Pull Harness is a body fitted harness for dogs who pull when being walked on the leash. The harness comes in eight different sizes and features a unique D-ring on the chest where the leash attaches. If the dog pulls while walking, the harness squeezes the dog’s front legs together and spins him around.

The No-Pull harness is supposed to be a method more humane than a prong collar preventing/ stopping dogs from pulling on the leash. The No Pull harness does a pretty good job controlling a strong puller and one who chases
things with full force. The problem is that for chronic leash pullers it may not do the trick. That’s because there’s a sweet spot between light pulling to a strong forceful pulling. And although the forceful pulling will spin your dog around, he can still pull lightly with total immunity from feeling the harness’ affects.

  • Ends sudden pulling
  • More humane than other pull-preventing methods (eg. prong collar)\
  • Made from soft, strong nylon with 4 adjustment points for reliable, comfortable fit
  • Easy-on-and-off snap buckles on shoulder and belly straps

  • Although it is made in eight sizes it still may not fit your dog
  • Does not eliminate pulling completely
  • Complicated to adjust
  • Difficult to determine which size is right for your dog

Although the No-Pull harness is made in eight different sizes, if your dog’s body shape does not conform to one of those sizes, it may not fit. This is especially true for top heavy breeds like French bulldogs and dachshunds. another problem with the sizing is knowing which one is right for your dog. Although Petsafe, the product’s manufacturer provides a comprehensive list of sizes which corresponds with your dog’s weight, as I stated before, the body type/shape of your dog may not be compatible.
